Well you've run rings around me logically. A couple of things led to my trade-off of stapling the hull and go stapleless on the deck.

1. It's a racing boat so I'm not as concerned about the woodworking artistry as having it ready for racing by April. I've been laying two strips with staples and then using the cam clamps to clamp between the strips.

2. I found that the cam clamps don't exert enough downward preasure when clamped to the forms. Plywood U's or L's work better when

3. I cut an milled strips for the first time on this boat with less than perfect results so I am focusing more on getting tight joints than on the staple holes.
