I also used staple-less construction and first put down some starter strips along the sheer and along the centerline. I found that the best way to avoid epoxy sags and puddles was to monitor the epoxy until it becomes tacky enough so it won’t run any more. As the epoxy cures, I use a foam brush to remove any epoxy runs that form. It means spending all the hours it takes.
