...is to make a Minicel foam footrest that sits against the bulkhead. You can make it as thick as you need (My girlfriend's Rumour has ~10" of padding on the bulkhead). I've done this with several boats and it's far more comfortable than any foot pegs I've tried, plus there's no holes in the hull.
