I have a Teak woodstrip canoe. There is a crack
behind & under the stern seat apprx. 12 or more inches
long. I took it to a guy who builds strip canoes
& he said the following:
"Inside the canoe the ribs are glued to the canoe,
not screwed in. Also, the fiberglass only goes up
near the ribs and not under them. He said this crack
will spread clear down the canoe. Even if he refiberglasses
and epoxies it."
I would very much appreciate any opinons of others.
This appears to be between wood strips and not within
a certain piece. I could not see the crack from under
the canoe. (Even if there was, what would you say?)
How would you fix this?
Thank you. John
