That's part of the reason we take our kayaks to a shop that has the equipment and expertise and let THEM spray the 2-part (PPG stratoclear). Usually costs us $200 to $250 per kayak. We do the initial sanding then drop it off and pick it up the next day ready to paddle. Sure beats a week and a half of sanding, brushing, sanding etc. and keeping dust free space in the shop. No way can we begin to afford to finish the boats ourselves.
