: No way Bub! When you get to R2K3, we're going to have our micrometers out :-)
: We won't tolerate any fudging :-)

One thing I DID learn in cabient making was to make my " Fudging " look more than acceptable... You won't see it!! Trust me!

: I'm anxious to to see these develop. I have been itching to try a traditional
: SOF, but right now it's just one of many boats on the "list".
: Are you going to keep the cross-sections similar. Some people have found
: the Morris boats to be a bit touchy due to the rounded bottoms. Will you
: flatten them at all or do the kids like a challenge :-)

I'm going to try to build it just as he specifies, unless something HAS to change when building a 2/3 size boat from his method. Since they will have the removable sponsons ( training wheels - as it were ) the kids won't notice the sensitivity or lack of until they get some semblance of balance in the boats. I don't want the sponsons to make solid contact on both sides all the time, but more like training wheels, will allow for correction and a learning curve with their balance. Being kids and the way they pick up on things, like riding a bike, they may pick it up quite quickly. But, I don't want it to be a bad experience for any of them. As you say, the boats may be a bit sensitive at first and if the kids go in the drink every time they get in, they won't get in. ??

To be honest Bill, I haven't even sat down and compared the two books, Picture wise, to see that aspect. Maybe I will do that this evening while I'm waiting for the second pot of coffee to perk. The kids are NON-boaters at this point, so this will be the perfect way to see how THEY feel about each type as well. They are pretty close in size and either will fit in each boat, so they will have the chance to compare and decide.
Not being use to anything before-hand, I should get some pretty honest feedback from them. It will be interesting to see how they react to each design as well.

: Keep up the good work!

Will keep you posted.....

P.S. ( are you as negative about choc. chip or oatmeal/raisin? )
P.S. II ( anyone else up there don't like fudge? )
