: Hi,
: I hope someone can help me... I'm in Southington, Connecticut. I'm building a
: boat (actually 2 boats. One for me, and one for my son. Am I nutz?).. My
: son and I are enjoying the building process. We have a nice feather
: pattern across the boat, and have come to the cockpit area... THEN I find
: I'm running out of the darker strips. I have tons of light strips, but the
: darker strips (Red Cedar), particularly the 3/4 inch groved strips we're
: almost out of. I DO have enough to finish the boat, but it would be all in
: the light wood, so the patterns would be blown...
I'm from CT (203-481-3221)
Branford building supply has dark cedar. I just bought a 2 x 4 x 10 for $12 - dark chocolate cedar for my deck. I used it all. but it's there. You can also check Landon Lumber in Madison. They always have all kinds of nice cedar and 2 x 4's.
If it's milling you're worried about, go flat edge for those you need to complete your pattern. Nobody will know.
