qurut = quroot = kashk = yazdie Notes: Reconstituted dry qurut (bottom picture) is an acceptable substitute for fresh.

Where to find it: Middle Eastern markets Substitutes: yogurt (not as salty)

I'd grate the "rock" to make small shreds and add those into some cool water.

It is jsut powdered yougurt then , so it should mix like powdered milk.

Maybe mix that in a blender to get it to dissolve.

If a grater doesn't work you might consider the random orbit sander and a fresh sheet of 60 grit sand paper :)
