: I reglued the hold down hooks on the hatches to my Walrus, and in a hurry to
: get it back in the water, I stuck them in my paddle-curing oven to speed

: how long the stat was stuck Ive no idea. It was plenty warm in there,
: probably 175 degrees. Good thing there were no paddles in there...

: The glass printed through on the hatches, and the pine yellowed quite a bit.
: And, these hatches were flat across the top but theyve warped upward, so
: the edges dont seal anymore. I can put trusses across the underside and
: pull them down some, but I wondered if anybody else has had this happen
: and what other solutions there might be. Softer gaskets havent seemed to
: help.

Sand off the glass in the center 3-4" or more, of the underside of the hatch cover.
This will make it flexible. Bend it to the desired shape and apply new glass.
