All will be fine. Go out and get a scraper to ease you sansnding efforts, it makes fast work of bumps, drips and runs. Jest be careful around the edges of the football to not cut through the outer layer of glass.
: Sealed the bottom with RAKA (350 hardener) and 12 hours later I started
: laying up the glass I used one layer of 5oz over the whole bottom with a
: second layer over the football. The first layer went on fine and looked
: very nice...was not floating. 12 hours later I put on the second layer but
: things did not go so well.
: While wetting out the cloth I had to work it harder than I wanted to around
: the edges due to the tightness of the weave. I had some fibers that left
: the weave. I picked out what I could but that seemed to make things worse.
: I also noticed a couple of creases on the second layer that must have
: taken when I was moving around the glass after cutting. 12 hours later I
: pressed on with a fill coat and I have a few drips and runs.
: Started doing some sanding this AM....and I am back to a FUB...Freak'n ugly
: boat....
: Oh Kayak Gods....please tell me that after filling and sanding and filling
: and sanding...the boat will look good again.
: Any tips. (besides being more careful with the second layer of glass next
: time??) Gosh that first layer of glass looked good....
: Thanks in advance.
