Grant,
I used 3 thick 12 x 12mini cell purchased at the local kayak shop. You can also purchase it from
http://johnrsweet.com/index.html
it is not cheap! 12 x12 is not big enough, Longer for more thigh support is better and wider would also be good depending on your cockpit and butt width. Read
for a how to description.
The back band is two pieces of 1/8 plywood bent and glued over a radiused jig. The same one I used to bend the deck beam. and covered with Ό minicell.
