I added a skeg to my Guillemot which now tracks perfectly. I would suggest a small fixed skeg, about 16" long and tapering to no more than 1 1/2" to 2" deep.If I remember correctly, I put a strip of masking tape where I wanted the skeg to be, and used hot melt glue to build up the skeg using thin layers of ash. I could then remove the skeg, cut it to shape, glass it and fasten it to the boat with some glass tape and epoxy.Alternatively, you could test diffent skeg shapes by simply hot melting to the hull until you are satisfied with the performance. Even a small skeg makes a huge difference, and in no way hinders paddling in shallow water.
