: I'm building a basswood and walnut Endeavor kayak and I have a question about
: what would be the best way to add toe room. I need about an inch or two of
: extra deck height in the foot region. What is the best way to do this?
: Should I raise the height of the sheer clamp all the way around by 1 1/2
: inches? Should I just put more curvature in the deck? It already curves
: upward dramatically. Should I make a sheer clamp that doesn't make a
: straight line across the boat and have it curve upward at those stations
: where my feet go? Thank you for any ideas you may have.
Hi Dan
Could you use blocks to mount the foot rests, which would maybe put your foot in a roomier part of the hull?? My feet seem to jamb near the outer edge of the hull and I think I'd have more toe room if the foot rest was about 1 or 2 " closer to the center.
just a thought..
Regards Terry
