I bend a lot of conduit in my job. It is very useful for many things, but I don't think building an SOF is one of the better choices. Just as Tom says...it has little flex. It bends and stays there. PVC is simply too weak. In my opinion the only viable choices are wood and aluminum tubing...with wood by far the better choice. Again, Tom has done wonders with aluminum. I'm not saying you couldn't use the conduit or pvc. In fact...I encourage it. Then you can post the results here so we'll all know. With the number of people that post on here we should be able to cover a wide spectrum of possible building materials. You'd bust a gut knowing some of the things I've done....
