: Does anyone know what a typical layup schedule may be for a molded fiberglass
: whitewater kayak. I want it as light as possible without using carbon
: fiber or kevlar. Thinking of using 2 or 3 layers of 6 oz. S-Glass. Do they
: typically use a sandwiched mat layer? Or maybe a 2 or 4 mil sandwiched
: coremat? How thick is a typical hull?

For a whitewater kayak, I think you'd want a minimum layup of 25-30 oz. per square yard. This translates to 4-5 layers of your 6 oz. S-Glass. Mat is a cheap substitute for axial or woven cloth.
