Skin-on-Frame: Do you need 9oz Dacron for covering?

I am looking to put together a group to make a bulk purchase of 9 oz Dacron ( PE). Mr Dyson no longer carries it . I have contacted the factory and they will produce it but the minumum order is 1500 ft at $3 ft. I ll take about 500 ft of this stuff but will need a few others to come in to make up a total order.
