Hey Mark,
I don't think it would make a difference, still will move on you either way. Vaclav recommends making span strips, the lengths come with the plans. Put the deck/hull on some horses and level it all the way down while placing the span strips to hold the proper span at the stations after glassing the inside. He mentions that if you don't staple you need to mark the boat near the shear at the stations as without staples you will loose your place to put the span strips.
