Hmm... You raise some interesting points I had not considered. That is why I find this board so useful.

Any chemists/wood products people out there? What is the nature of the glues used to create BS 1088 Okoume?

Plywood S&G are of course made of veneers of plywood glued, and pressed together. To build a kayak you then coat with glass and epoxy where the epoxy bonds with the wood.

So to be consistent with the basic S&G building process when I add another layer of veneer what glue should I use? Is it an issue? How deep does epoxy bind into the normal plywood?
