: Following much input from this list I went to Porter Cable's website to see
: what 3hp routers they had available.

: I was looking for one that had two bases - one for table mount and one for
: free hand which I saw recommended here. Trouble is there are 4 or 5 3.25HP
: routers up there and I can't tell if any (or all) have the dual bases
: recommended here. Are they the plunge routers or no?

I agree with the other comments about the 3hp being heavy.
last week I purchased their 1_3/4 hp model and I think it has
all the power you will need for any kayak building. (I have
previously done the cove & bead strips for a boat using only
my old 3/4hp B&D router.)

the 1 3/4 hp model can be bought with both bases in a kit.
