I agree with the other comments about the 3hp being heavy.
last week I purchased their 1_3/4 hp model and I think it has
all the power you will need for any kayak building. (I have
previously done the cove & bead strips for a boat using only
my old 3/4hp B&D router.)

the 1 3/4 hp model can be bought with both bases in a kit.
