b&c vs bevel

interesing perspective from one who has done both ways.

i would suspect however that if clamping is not done betw forms, that for a first time user or one who uses very thin strips, that b&c helps to keep the strips aligned together and therefore at this level a better structural result will occur time for time on this part of the building (maybe not total).

however when looking close at some b&c boats, i see an indistinct edge that wavers a bit depending on the grain runout. when looking at a boat or 2 by the same person, where both bead and cove and bevel is used i have seen a difference that is actually strikingly obvious.

i have not seen enough kayaks to say for sure, but what i am starting to suspect is that if you want crisp edges or fine jointing that bevel or high radius b&c is the way to go.
