One final suggestion for you. Wet the wood with a damp cloth. This will raise the grain and help eliminate some cross sanding scratches that would other wise show. After it dries, it only takes a quick and light sanding. This also highlights some scratches that you may otherwise not notice until you have epoxied. If your really concerned, you may even want to do this more than once.
