: I've followed the various threads on the bead & cove router bits - and
: I'm a bit confused. The set that most folks seem to prefer is the Lee
: Valley Flute & bead bit set - item # 16J42.10 - but I see the radius
: on these is only 1/8". Don't I need a radius of 1/4", which is
: the thickness of my strip?
: Thanks for any words of wisdom!
Hi Jim,
I've seen where the name brand Lee Valley has popped up a lot for canoe bits. I know there are others out there that make the same bit set. For example, Whiteside router bits also makes canoe bits. These are high quality industrial bits. Just wondering if any of you guys have any opinions on the quality of the Lee Valley bits. My experience is limited in this area, but I'm of the opinion that cheaper bits don't last as long.
Does anyone have an opinion on this topic or have any experience using these Lee Valley bits? I know the Whiteside canoe bit set at routerbits.com is $50. If it were me, I would probably fork out a few extra bucks for the Whitesides.
Thanks,
Rich
