Strip: deck hull mismatch

I've read some of the discussions on warped decks and hulls. Mine are out by a fat inch in some places. I've built braces and frames to hold the hull in position but some of those braces are under significant load. (I wish I could quantify) First question is how strong is the glass on a sideways forcing.
My second question is should I consider more drastic measures similar to the methods used to correct the warped hatch. I was thinking of cutting the seam along the top of the deck and reforming it. Someone tell me this is not necessary please.
