Hi Brian,
I have exactly the opposite experience with Keepers. They have NEVER given me any trouble. I have 2 boats with keepers and one with Yakimas. The Keepers are easy to adjust with my foot without tearing my toe off. I can't move the yakimas without reaching with my hand and if they get the least bit of sand on the rails, they will not move at all. My current project will not have Yakimas, even if they were free.

I may try the bulkhead foot rest this time. I do wonder about too much leg pressure breaking the bulkhead?
