Resolving the Cirrus Deck Issue

Looking forward to the next batch of photos Jim.

Based on the problem that 2 Cirrus builders have noted regarding the deck panels not lining up I sent the following question to Vaclav this morning. I'd like to hear what others on the KBBB think.

The Issue:

I have finished cutting and sanding hull and deck panels. I have purchased sheets of veneer to glue on to the deck panels prior to glassing. What I had intended to do this weekend was start the process of cutting and gluing the veneer to the deck panels prior to constructing the hull (an issue of not enough room). Then S&G the hull and deck in the usual sequence.

But what if my cutting of the deck panels was off and I found some shortfalls after doing all that veneer work? One option is the construct the hull and deck as normal. If the deck has some shortfall then it can be repaired with scrap plywood, then taken apart and veneered. But this adds a lot of steps.

Any strategies to check the deck panels without all of these steps?
