I would like to put a recessed cockpit in a Great Auk.
Has anyone done this and if so did you just approximate the recess?

In his book, Nick says the cockpits are interchangeable but
the Guillemot recess/ cockpit looks a bit too small for the Auk.

At this point I'm thinking a 32" cockpit with a recess is what I want. Just not sure how much bigger to make the recess??
