I've had good luck with using an old steam kettle and just 'tenting' the stubborn part of the strip with aluminum foil. I only use a steam box for cockpit rims. Try letting the kettle boil for about two minutes, and over-bend the strip. I usually let it cool while I work on the strip on the opposite side. If it is still tough to get in place to glue, you can always give it a second shot of steam. Two or three strips will give you a feel for it.
