If Maroske is what you have on your boat, that is what I plan on going with. I have only glassed the deck inside and out, not the interior of the hull so I plan on putting on the combing and the lines and likely the foot pegs without standing on my head and cursing (just do the cursing this time). I am planning on turning some beads out of walnut or purple heart. I'll probably go with 5/16 or 3/8 -- appreciate the comment on 1/4 -- it seemed small. I was figuring I would get the kermantle at army navy in Whitefish -- is the feed store cheaper? Also, does Jesco usually carry small amounts of West Systems -- ran out of resin and still have some hardner I don't want to throw out.
I put in a roller's recess so will likely have it so the paddle and float can go behind the cockpit -- the foredeck on the King is quite high and round so I think the lines would have to be too loose to plan on using that for self rescue.
Finally tried the RAKA and quite like it. It seems as thin as West Systems and a bit faster than System 3 (shop was at 80 degrees and I was working alone -- very quickly). Penetrates well and I had virtually no outgassing (I think because of the speed). Thanks again.
I shall send you a cheque directly -- let me know what you want for the flares as well. If anyone wants to do something nice for Shawn for arranging all the nylon -- he likes Canadian chocolate and, maybe a wee dram of Canadian whiskey.
thanks Shawn

: Anything smaller than 1/4" can feel like it's cutting your hand when
: you're wet, cold, tired, and possibly frantic. Okay, you won't be frantic,
: but a rescuee could be!!
: I put my anchors 2' to 2.5' apart.
: Nylon is too stretchy. Dacron or polyester sail rigging line is really
: expensive. I found kernmantle polypro at the farm & ranch store down
: here. 3/8" is extremely comfortable---I think I have 1/4" on the
: Guillemot and Cormorant.
: What sort of anchors are you planning to use? I'm totally sold on the Maroske
: fittings, but they're easier installed before seaming hull and deck.
: You can often use the same fitting for foredeck lines as well as perimeter
: lines. I'm thinking of trying hard foredeck lines with sliders when I
: rerig the Cormorant after varnishing it.
