In Response To: Epoxy: Epoxy blues... (Mike and Rikki)

: Results: 1. China Syndrome all the way, really cool sculpture when it set.
: The stuff shattered when beat with a hammer
: 2. the stuff set but was real soft and impressible. RAKA 127/610 is supoosed
: to be 2:1 so it's interesting to see the difference mixing and trying
: match
: 3. this set hard, but had a hardener stink to it. I tugged at one edge of
: glass and it did start to delaminate. Thye cardboard was a solid board,
: the glass easily peeled. For both test cases I stopped and let it sit for
: tomorrow.

It would be interesting if we knew the molecular structure (and diluent proportion) for each epoxy resin and hardener, so mixing and matching would be possible.

I have mis-mixed Raka before...I thought too little hardener was hard and brittle, and too much was soft and flexy...which seems counter-intuitive, unless I have it bass-ackwards.
