What kind of glue are you planning to use to
: glue the veneer to the plywood panels?
Good question, one that I raised on this BB a couple of times. (you can run a search on glue+veneer and you will probably find some of those posts).
Rehd discussed using contact cement which is a traditional way of gluing veneer to furniture.
At Christmas I found a great book on veneering that also discusses using dry glue sheets similar to dry mounting glue used to attach photos to backing. These are heat sensitive and are activated by using an iron. Virtually no clamping should be necessary.
And of course one could use epoxy but some clamping would be required.
A previous poster wondered if the glue might impede the absorption of epoxy when laying up the fibreglass. I posed the question to Gouegon Bros. In a phone call conversation they indicated that the absorption of epoxy is rarely more than a couple of cells into the wood so unless you are working with end grain then no problem.
I am cutting the veneer to fit the curve of the panels today. If there is enough scrap then I will compare the holding power of the heat activated glue vs. epoxy.
Stay tuned.
