Thanks for the extra photo. It answered my question. The origional photo had pixelation along the accent stripe so I wasn't sure if it was 3 long strips or a series of short diagonal strips. Using the black walnut and basswood against each other is a good idea. It builds a lot of contrast. I once used cherry beside maple for an accent and it just didn't have enough contrast.
