: Several years ago I built a woodstrip version of MAE-593-76, which is the

: Mine was constructed as a woodstrip, as I had not yet begun building skin

: Performance was good, being quite fast, but also a bit tippy. I'm sure
: that as a skin boat, it would have greater stability due to it's pronounced
: chines, and concave skin between chines. My hull was rounded to permit
: stripping.
: The kayak was actually quite comfortable, as I made mine with a larger than
: designed coaming. ( See LINK) A narrow bum would be a plus also.
: MAE-593-76 made my Danish "Sprint" kayak look downright anemic in
: comparison.
