...is still a single piece with a single seam. Instead of sewing down the center, it's sewn along one gunwale. FWIW, I used Bill Low's method on three boats and I like the results. You can see how he does it at the link below. I use a temporary center stringer clamped in place as a sewing guide. It's simply a piece of 1/8" x 3/4" x 8' aluminum strap.
