Veneer instead?

My 12yo daughter has pretty much the same idea. I had considered a sof for her since they seem so quick to build but she wants nice looking wood on the deck. I think I'm going to try and use veneer instead of stripping the deck pattern because everything she has come up with so far is way beyond my stripping experience (zero at this point).
