Has anybody tried spot staining filler? I use Durhams to fill where needed but on my deck most of the wood is very dark WRS and Durhams mixed with dark sanding dust and Rit dye is still too light colored. I know epoxy will darken it some but not enough to match the dark WRS. I am wondering if I could mask off the wood and apply a water based stain to the filler only. Anyone tried this?
