That's so interesting. Thanks for the info. Ditto on the full moon. Down here at lattitude 18 we have full moon parties too at Willy T's, a pirate ship looking boat anchored off Norman Island which has been made into a floating bar/grill. (The boat's given name is the William Thornton, but it's known as "Willy T's") They make mushroom tea, but I don't partake due to random drug tests, plus it's a good 20 mile boatride back home. Besides I'm not into that stuff. It's fun to watch people though. You can dive off the top and you get a free t shirt if you either dive down and pick up a bottle or can off the bottom, or if you jump off naked. I got a free t shirt but I won't say which I did. (and I said you northerners were crazy) The full moon is gorgeous here, and one interesting thing is that our moon waxes and wanes from top to bottom, not side to side like from your viewpoint. I keep a chart of the lunar phases posted by my desk so I can be sure to get out in the full moon. Add to the full moon the bioluminesence that causes the water to glow blue-green when disturbed by a paddle or propeller, and you get quite an out-of-this-world experience.

I'm going to take your photo to work. I have employees that have never seen snow, and they will get a kick out of seeing people driving on the ice. We did have a guy try to drive on the water here, but he didn't make it past the edge of the dock. Actually he hit the wrong gear and went backwards off the boardwalk. It was one of those "alcohol may have been a factor" incidents.
