Actually, the popcorn my wife charred in the nuker was far more toxic--took 2.5 weeks for the smell to dissipate--honestly!
I have a small microwave in my shop left over from my college days that's perfect. I think warm wood + warm epoxy works the absolute best. Warm epoxy + cold glass or wood 2nd best. Warm wood and cold epoxy 3rd best. Cold epoxy and cold wood is simply awful.
