It depends on how particular you are. A bundle of Western Red Cedar strips from Noahs in Toronto is about $425 US. The bundle has 55 17-18 ft.strips that are close in color. If your building a kayak you may need additional strips at @ $9 apiece.
This is the high end alternative. There are plenty of ways to do the job for
less.
