I glassed the outside risers prior to putting on the combing lip. It took three (or maybe 4 pieces on the outside, to get a single layer. It was not to hard.

The inside of the risers got two layers of glass.

The combing lip itself... 3 layers of epoxy, zero layers of glass. It is made of Ash, and Cherry.

I've not used the kayak much, but I have rested a good portion of my weight on the riser/lip getting in and out. (holding my torso up on the palms of my hands, directly on the combing lip) I weigh 190 lbs. This was in the shop, and the on the one and only paddle thus far.

I'm not finished my kayak yet, and was going to put the class on the lip later, but after my trial paddle , I may not. I'm intersted in what the board has to say about that.

Oh yea, as for pictures, you have to scan them, upload to a web location, then set the BBS to point to them. There are lots of posts with some details on how to do this in the past. Many people use picture stage. I'm sure you will get better help from someone that uses this service.
