for fillets:

1) using a sandwich bag full of thickend epoxy, with the corner cut. Then sqeeze out the epoxy to get it down right into the seam.
2) a plastic spoon works well for smoothing it out.

I read this on the BBS way back, I forget who mentioned it.

As for getting the glass down smooth... I'm not very good at that.
