Hi Bert, 2-3 footers? dang I've been in flat water too long, here in the Chesapeake waves that size are right up on each other and no one's out because it's blowing a hurricane. I had built a Patuxent 17 8yrs before for the intention of getting a kayak that was suitable for racing but it didn't cut it for the S.F. Bay,,actually neither did I but the limitations in the hull were glaring. Sorry to hear about the 'poxy allergy, I've got about two more boats left in me so I'm getting MIGHTY picky about what I build next.
