Looks really nice to me. Before you panick too much, does the white spots disappear when you put some spit on it. If they do, odds on varnish might be the cure you are looking for when the time comes.

Probably a long shot, but after you go over your whole boat with the random orbital sander you get left wondering for a long time if maybe you have blown the perfect finish it goes all opaque and whitish-grey. Then, when you varnish it all works out nice and clear after all ... you just have a few extra grey hairs the first time around.
