No problem, check with Sing for a sample of the poly since he is close by. There may be other suppliers, but I drive by Tacoma Tent and Awning almost every day. It is awning material, and is shown on the right in the picture below. Dyson's 9 oz is on the left.

Sorry, brand new #10 15 oz canvas is not bad, it is just that 10 oz polyester is stronger, lighter, and doesn't rot. The polyester is outlasting the frame of my Putz style kayak. I tried varnish on canvas, and that was bad. Snow-Roof on canvas worked fairly well, but the finish did abrade, the canvas was fine though. Water-based Varathane on polyester worked very well. I will be using Snow-Roof on polyester for my folder.

In those conditions, lighter fabric SHOULD be okay, but with heavier fabric, you won't have to worry about it.
