: I'm halfway through my first paddle and about 50% of what I've done has gone
: wrong so far...We'll see how it works.

In the world of amateur telescope making, the legendary John Dobson admonishes his beginner's mirror making classes that "there is nothing you can do here that will be followed by a life of sorrow." Conversely, a quote that sticks with me as a neophyte boat builder was said by, I think, Lee G: "if it breaks, fix it and make it stronger." It is simple, but so highly practical, philosophies such as these that encourage me to push on ahead with so many of my endeavors.

So I shall cast my vote as go-ahead-and-finish-that-paddle. I will be coming up along behind you shortly, as soon as my boats are finished. Let us know how it goes, and I promise to do likewise with mine.

Cheers,
Kurt Maurer
