Sure, it`s been done, there are pictures of a few of them in the archives.

If you go back to 15 June 2001 there is a long thread compleat with pictures of the builder doing an endo in his.

Also, I am not certain but I think Mike Allen might have done something along these lines.

There was at least one other strip built playboat on this site a year or two ago with several impressive pictures, but my quick check of the archives didn`t find it.
