I sailed for 3 years on a Moore 24 wood deck fiber glass ulta light. It was about 10 years old when my friend sold it. The deck epoxy on the cold molded deck had started to crack and have blackining of the wood. I belive it never got revarnished. The epoxy never showed failure till it was to late.Varnish is cheap insurance.
