You are correct. I was careless in seeking the proper wood for this paddle and have learned a valuable lesson. All I can say is chalk it up as a learning experience and make sure it doesn't happen again. I'll keep building paddles, just stick to the 7 P's... "Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance". :D
