: The new baby looks a bit like a single version of the combi, but she combines

: the ends, not too shallow hull) and the Greenlandic (pointed symmetrical

Eric,

You've described many of the design characteristics. The deadrise is 18 deg
(min.) combined with 3.5in rocker at the base of the stems. This represents
the Aleut influence. The stem/stern are sloped at 22deg. for a Greenland look.
I plan to build a lower, smaller coaming version with flat aft deck for
rolling.

Like the Combi's, this is a symmetrical hull, which is quite a departure from
my Aleut variants. The reason for this was to greatly speed up construction as
sections 1-3 are much easier to duplicate than to make all new sections 4-6.
Even the stern plate is an exact duplicate of the stem.

Again, speed of construction was the goal. It is possible to make an
asymmetrical hull shape with duplicate cross sections fore and aft by changing
the stern section spacing, but I chose not to do so.

FAP-15/16 and TDY-16 assemble at the center, but both the Combi's and Symetrik
assemble at the stern. This has two advantages. First, there is no fighting to
get the tubes plugged in at the center, and second, the cross sections are
under no tube tension when being installed, since the stern connection is the
last step in assembly. The stern connection method was changed to permit this.
These changes probably shave 5 minutes off the assembly time and eliminate the
need for any assembly "muscle".
