: Did I miss some pictures on the BBS? Or did you not post a launch report yet
: Sing? I'm very impressed with your 25# finished weight. My Morris SOF is
: 18.5x23", and it weighs 41#. Good job!
: Waiting on pictures....

Had a great launch. Weather 40 degrees and water around 36 degrees with bits of floating ice, here and there. Seems appropos for a SOF launch. I had a heck of time on my initial attempt to get into the boat, this being the tightest and narrowest boat, I've ever been in. I felt it was very tippy at first and thought I made a mistake. I rolled her over, did a balance brace and rolled her back up with several different variations. She came right up. This made me feel much better since I knew that if I were to flip while paddling, it won't be a problem getting her rightside up. I actually did flipped over once trying to catch waves. It was fun since I knew she would roll right back up.
We probably paddled about 6 nm or so. I got more used to her. Too bad it was pretty calm most of the trip, so I really couldn't judge too much her handling in winds and waves. On the last leg, the wind and waves did pick up a bit and she acted "neutral" to it, neither weathercocking or leecocking. Just the way I like it. I'll have to get back out in higher waves and wind to make a better assessment. By the end of the trip, she didn't feel too tippy and I figured out I didn't have to shift too much to put her on here chines for turns. Not have too shift my weight too much for leaned turns made the boat feel much more stable.
I didn't bring a camera but Brian Nystrom who came out with me too some shots. He snapped some on the beach but I have no idea what they look like. He's going to post them at some point on his webshot account and I'll download from there.
