Leslie and I decided to build our own boats too, a pair of CLC Mill Creek 13s, last Christmas. While they are not quite finished yet, we are paddling them between work sessions. It is the first boat making project we have ever tackled, and it has been a perfect blast!

You will make a few mistakes, so get used to it. But always remember the old woodworker's maxim: "it isn't a goof-up until it leaves the shop." In other words, most every misstep can, and will be, be blended in, hidden outright, or properly corrected (you will know which is most appropriate) fairly easy.

Stick close to the gang here, and you can't go wrong. Take your steps slowly and deliberately, have fun doing them, and you are practically guaranteed the coolest boat on the block.

Our website chronicles our neophyte adventures, and may somehow be of help. Any mirth contained within it is an accurate reflection of the fun we had building our little tubs. Paddling them is certainly turning out to be the great joy we had anticipated.
